THE BLACK ANGEL
Oakland Cemetery located in Iowa City is home to the Feldevert monument, better known as the Black Angel.
The bronze statue turned black shortly after being put in place in 1911. The turning black is believed to be caused by oxidation. The statue has a legend that says anyone who touches it will die.
On March 11th 2001, I.C.P.R made it's first visit to the monument.
